Maurene Morgan was the former Washington Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) State Director from 2017 until 2023, and was a member of MUFON’s Experiencer Research Team (ERT). Maurene graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in Communication Studies at the age of 43, and then worked for 12 years as an editorial assistant on a university philosophy journal. She spent more than 20 years exploring the world that included crewing aboard a square rigger during an Atlantic passage (SV Unicorn), and sailing around the world aboard a 40’ sailboat (Finisterre IV). A small-town girl from the Midwest, these experiences have given her a sense of how magical and mysterious our world truly is, and how much more there is to explore.
